Modern Arboricultural Data Management
We’re excited to share our 2026 software development roadmap, delivering improved user experience, performance and new arboricultural features.
Behind the scenes, we are continuously developing Mapscape to ensure it meets arboricultural operational needs.
Our AGILE approach provides you and your team with software that evolves with your business and delivers lasting value.
The journey to smarter tree surveying continues.
Exploring the 2026 Roadmap
Mapscape is continually turning ideas from our shared development board into a practical roadmap—focused on delivering better value in arboricultural digital mapping. As new features go live, you can see customer feedback and support outcomes on our Testimonials page.
Q1. A – Introduction of New Platform Software Architecture
Mapscape is rolling out a new platform software architecture built on the latest Esri back-end technologies. This upgrade has been developed and tested to optimise performance end-to-end, delivering a noticeably smoother user experience, faster workflows and improved ease of use across everyday arboricultural tasks.
This is more than an incremental update, it’s a major step-change that establishes a new foundation for Mapscape’s next phase of development. With this modernised architecture in place, we can deliver advanced arboriculture digital mapping capabilities more efficiently and reliably, including new features such as STRATA™ and other data-led tools designed to help arboricultural professionals manage trees with greater consistency, confidence and control.
Q1. B – Structural Tree Risk Assessment and Tacking Analysis. STRATA™
GIS-native tree risk assessment with automatic Works Priority, audit trail, live mapping and one-click Excel outputs, consistent, defensible, and better value through one joined-up workflow.
- Each tree is a mapped feature first (a point with a unique ID and location).
- Tree Risk Assessment data is captured directly against that mapped tree, on site.
- Results appear immediately on the map (so you can filter, colour-code, prioritise, and plan works spatially).
- Tracking is inherent (re-inspections, status, changes over time stay linked to the same mapped asset).
- Exports are generated from the mapped dataset (so the spreadsheet/report reflects the GIS record, not a separate re-keyed file).
Q1. C – Creation of an Arboricultural STRATA™ Advisory Board
Mapscape is establishing an Arboricultural STRATA™ Advisory Board as part of our strategic move towards ISO 9001 certification and continuous improvement of STRATA™ for commercial use.
We’re seeking representatives from a range of sectors, including arboricultural consultancies, local authorities and duty-holders, estates, housing providers, highways, rail, utilities and insurers, who are willing to provide practical feedback on STRATA™ on a quarterly (every three months) basis. In return, Advisory Board members will receive discounted access to the STRATA™ module and early visibility of planned improvements.
If you and/or your organisation would like to join the Advisory Board, please Contact Us directly for further information. We look forward to hearing from you.
Q1. D – Commence ISO 9001:2015 Gap Analysis Checklist.
Mapscape has engaged ‘Flintloque The Management System Experts’ to support our programme to implement a management system aligned with the statutory and regulatory expectations of our target markets, and to underpin the commercial rollout of STRATA™.
Following our discussions, Mapscape has taken the strategic decision to work towards ISO 9001:2015 certification, with an estimated target window of Q3/Q4 2026. Flintloque will assist us in applying the guidance contained within the ISO 9001:2015 standard, ensuring appropriate training of personnel in quality management, and preparing the documentation needed to evidence a robust, consistent, and auditable approach across our processes.
